Entrance Studies
These entrance studies demonstrate alternative design solutions for two unique and distinctive entrances for a 175 acre private residential development. Frontage on a very busy arterial street created difficulty in providing safe ingress and egress to the property, including turnaround space for vehicles that do not gain access to the site.
Both schemes for each entry utilize a circular form in a different fashion to present a consistent image along the public frontage. Arriving residents and guests proceed beyond the public right of way prior to stopping at the gated entry. If visitor cannot gain access, ample turnaround space is available thereby eliminating the need for backing into the arterial street. The entry compositions enhance the arrival experience with upgraded paving, gatehouse, creative integration of the public sidewalks, landscape treatment and broad views to nearby site features. |
