.25 Acre Private Residence - Indianapolis, Indiana
The owners of this 1920's Meridian Kessler home had grand plans for the small lot within a historic neighborhood. Their wish list included an herb garden, play house for young children, rear yard terrace with hot tub, dog run, street side sitting porch and ornamental landscape throughout. The primary constraint in designing this project proved to be incorporating several program requirements into such a small property.
By initially preparing two strikingly different design schemes, Remenschneider Associates expeditiously assisted their clients in prioritizing their program needs. The herb garden is the terminus to the view with the driveway. The children's play area is just off the hot tub terrace and utilizes the fence for a portion of the play house. The dog run is below a garden arbor along the narrow north property line. The street side sitting porch, appended to the existing sun porch, allows casual viewing and engagement with neighborhoods. By clearly proposing alternative design solutions to the owner's varied program, RAI was able to deliver design and construction oversight services in a timely fashion. |
